Heading Home Original Painting

'Heading Home' captures the serene beauty of a sunset, with a boat gently making its way inland, a sight that reminds us of the peace and comfort of home.

I was inspired to paint a calm and soothing sunset that symbolizes the end of a long blissful summers day. 

I have used warm inviting tones and intricate brushstrokes to bring the scene to life and have added a tiny piece of our West Cumbrian shoreline in the form of shale.

Sunsets remind me of quiet evenings, chilling after a playful day spent on the shore as a child, which we often did.  Summers were spent at our caravan which was on the West Cumbrian Coast..... so many happy childhood memories, I have to capture on canvas and share.
